It’s Friday, time to look back over the blessings of the week with Susanne atLiving to Tell the Story and other friends.

  1. Really worked hard at work this week so that I could have Friday off.  I only had to work 1.5 hours this morning.  As soon as I got up at 6; got ready; and was working by 7:30.  It is nice to be able to be so flexible with my schedule.
  2. Friday a friend and I  went to Lurgan Greenhouse.  My friend got flowers for my birthday and planeted/potted them for me.  It was a nice day.  We were so glad it didnt rain while we were there.
  3. it was a lot of fun eating supper with co-workers thursday night then going to the ARC social to see several people.  its not to be where people seem to want to see you.
  4. Arc social: so many different people - where a couples looks beyond age, looks, background; family, financial statis  and enjoy the time of being close and enjoying the company.
  5. Buying the first set of flowers to pot.  enjoying getting hands dirty with fresh soil; watering and hoping they will bloom well.

Friday's Fave Five

  1. The Scales do move : Ive been really discouraged that since ive been on nutrisystem I havent lost much weight.  Finally this morning i went down one pound.  this puts me at losing 5lbs in a month.  This is positive and i am thankful of any loss

    2.  Meeting the quota:  I was able to earn enough hours of work to take off Friday.  Its wonderful to              have a 3 day weekend.

    3.  The Good Deed: I was at Hats trying to get a drink and was behind at least 25 teenage customers. I          stood there for a while then a young teen came up to me and said he would get the drink for me since           he had worked there but not working at that time.  the drink was $1.25.  I gave him $2.00 and said               keep the change and left.  I really did appreciate that and went later to talk to the Hats owner and the           teen did pay for the drink.

   4:  Sunday Lunch: One of my favorite Sunday traditions is most Sundays a group of us go out to each              after church.  We went to Hoss's and have a lovely time chatting.

   5:  Bitter Sweet:  Its wonderful to see God working in people. This is true for one of our young couples.          They will be soon leaving across many states to being preaching.  It is sad for us because we will miss            them and they are such an encouraging part of our church family.

Happy New Year 2014

A New Year’s Prayer
May God make your year a happy one!
Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.
God’s love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.
Anonymous
I pray the same for you! May 2014 be a year of growth and blessing and drawing ever nearer to our God.

The Simple Woman's Daybook - October

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... its night time - Hats' still has its lights on the corner.  The porch lights from Chris's shine though my windows.

I am thinking... Its very peaceful yet im used to being next door.

I am thankful... health; my job; family; church family; and friends

In the kitchen... the floor needs wiped up tomorrow; the dishes are clean;

I am wearing... my T shirt from the missions trip in Georga and pink polka dot pants

I am creating... My oasis

I am going... to my parents and the fall fest

I am wondering...

I am reading...

I am hoping...

I am looking forward to...

I am learning

Around the house...

I am pondering...

A favorite quote for today...

One of my favorite things...

A few plans for the rest of the week:

A peek into my day...

Day 1:

a   Ain't No Mountain High Enough: Stepmom Lyrics

Listen baby, ain't no mountain high,
Ain't no valley low, ain't no river wide enough;
Baby if you need me call me no matter where you are,
No matter how far;
Just call my name; I'll be there in a hurry;
You don't have to worry,

'Cause baby there ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe.

Remember the day I set you free
I told you you could always count on me
From that day on, I made a vow,
I'll be there when you want me,
Some way, some how.

'Cause baby there ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe.

My love is alive
Way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand,
I'll be there on the double
As fast as I can.
Don't you know that there

Ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe.

No wind no rain or winters cold can stop me baby,
'Cause you are my goal.
If you're ever in trouble;
I'll be there on the double.
Just send for me, oh baby.

If you need me call me no matter where you are,
No matter how far;
Just call my name; I'll be there in a hurry;
You don't have to worry,

'Cause baby there ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

Proverbs 10:6

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Refrain
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.
Refrain
When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
Refrain
So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
Refrain
